Spotlight on Miss Teen DC United States Vishaka Ravishankar

Your 2012 Miss Teen District of Columbia United States is Vishaka Ravishankar.

Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Vishaka is a student at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Bioinformatics and is on the Pre-Medicine track. She enjoys dedicating service time within her college sorority Alpha Gamma Delta, traveling, dancing and spending time with her family. In 2008, Vishaka earned the title of 2008 Miss All American Junior Teen. This spring as Miss Teen District of Columbia, Vishaka had the honor of modeling for designers Heidi Elnora and Johnathan Kayne.

The Miss Teen division includes young women ages 16-29 who have never been married and have never given birth. The goal of the Miss Teen United States program is to provide young women with a path to great achievement in many areas including fashion, media, community service and any charitable platform of their choice. Local and national titleholders receive prize packages and many opportunities such as endorsements, photo shoots, runway work, and community appearances.

Vishaka will compete for the title of 2012 Miss Teen United States this summer at the national pageant in Washington, D.C. in the areas of evening gown, swimwear, and interview.
