Washington, DC – The newly crowned 2013 Miss United States, Candiace Dillard will take the runway in her hometown of the District of Columbia to empower women at the Heels & Helmets 2013 Ladies Training Camp Game Time Fashion Show benefiting the Washington D.C. Women’s Business Center (DC WBC) on July 27, 2013. Heels & Helmets partnered with Going Pro Entertainment to produce the show that will feature women’s fashion from the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), SisterGolf and Ann Taylor.

Ladies Training Camp is Heels & Helmets’ annual women’s conference that empowers women to excel in their professional capacities and personal lives while raising money for a nonprofit organization that serves women or youth. DC WBC was selected because of its efforts to support women entrepreneurs, especially women who are economically disadvantaged. Just as athletes train before they start a new season, Ladies Training Camp attendees train for their new season. This is the first year for the fashion show.

“Personal branding is very important in business.  Projecting the right image is critical to elevating your game,” said Shavannia Williams, President of Heels & Helmets, referencing the conference’s theme. “I am excited to partner with Going Pro Entertainment and add the fashion show to this conference and help women develop the look and confidence of a champion.”

The fashion show will showcase a variety of fashion forward looks to be worn in the office and on game days. “Throwback Cheer” comprised of alumni NFL and NBA cheerleaders will liven up the crowd. Models ages 11 to 50 will join Miss Dillard, including Miss Maryland Nicole Butts, Miss Delaware Taylor DeMario, Miss Teen District of Columbia Colby Muhammad, Miss Pre-Teen District of Columbia Laniece Oliver and Ms. District of Columbia Erika Thomas. In addition to viewing the looks on the runway, attendees can receive a makeover and professional headshots.

“Going Pro focuses on training and events for women in entertainment, especially pro dance and pageantry,” said owner Laura Clark of McLean, Va, a former beauty queen and NFL cheerleader. “The Ladies Training Camp is a perfect match, because success in these industries is extremely dependent on a woman’s professionalism, especially interview skills, media relations and image.”

Fashion show tickets can be purchased online for $75.00, which is held at Living Social, 918 F Street NW, Washington, DC on Saturday, July 27 at 12:30. Tickets include a seat in the fashion show, lunch and makeup tips from Miss Dillard. A portion of each ticket will benefit the DC WBC. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available.
